This was our second time here and we will be back again (definitely worth the 30 min drive). Probably one of the best tacos we've ever had, and we have had many. We had the chicken, beef and pork tacos. All outstanding, especially the beef. Very fresh, definitely homestyle cooking. Highly recommended.

I have a number of positive things to say about this establishment but I'd like to start with my visit a few months ago, probably my 5th time visiting Tacos Is Life. I drove over to place an order and they are about 20 minutes from my house. I placed my order (beef birria tacos and empanadas) and sat outside, since I wasn't feeling well. In fact, I ended up pretty sick and felt awful so I figured I'd be okay until I made it home. No such luck. Thought I was hiding it pretty well but I looked pretty rough after getting sick the second time. The man working the register (who is wonderful and always seems to be working when I stop by) was nice enough to bring my order outside since I was getting air and he added that they threw in a ginger ale with my order. Ya'll that ginger ale SAVED ME until I made it home. I can't say enough nice things about the people who work here. Every single one of them was so kind...they have earned a customer for life that day. Now for the food. The beef birria tacos are amazing! I've heard people talk about birria for years and I thought they were good but nothing great, until I tried Tacos Is Life. They are now my go to when I place an order. Their empanadas are also delicious. They taste like someone is hand making them in the back somewhere, which is probably exactly what is happening. I go for the chicken and cheese but the beef and cheese are also excellent. I've never had a bad meal here. The birria ramen is next on my list. Can't wait to try it!! There's a reason so many people are talking about this place. Definitely worth the trip. You won't be disappointed!

The staff was super nice and five stars for them. The venue was small and not busy today, a Wednesday during lunch. I had the platter($14) where I chose 4 tacos. In the order starting with my most favorite I had the al pastor(pig), shrimp, beef, and finally chicken. The al pastor wasn't quite what I'm accustomed to, but it was still tasty and worth trying. The shrimp was simple and good. The beef was a bit bland, even with the birria sauce which was also bland. The chicken had no detectable flavor. It was a little better with the birria sauce. The common theme across all tacos were good portions, but boring and bland. I recently had birria is Bayonne and it was amazing and flavorful. The tacos here could be just as good, but they need more love. A lot more sabor could make this great. I enjoyed most of my meat, it was good for what it was. But I won't come back because it's just not tasty enough. I know I could add hot sauce, but it's not about heat, it's about flavor. Rating break down: 5 stars to staff, venue, portion size, value, presentation, plating, and being very clean. 1 stars for flavor or lack thereof.

Went for lunch and was not disappointed with the food or service!. Nice small spot inside and out. I appreciated being able to sit inside and enjoy the music, culture and smiles!

What a hidden Gem! Came here on a Monday during Lunch time! There was plenty of street parking. Seating is a bit limited but there were tables open during lunch time. They provide chips and salsa for the table. I ordered street corn in a cup, mixed tacos with shrimp and birria. Everything was amazing! My friend ordered cheese flautas and they were cheesy! Will definitely return!

You can't go wrong with anything from their menu! I was so excited to see that they now have a brick and mortar. It's a testimony to their hard work and dedication. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good

Tacos Is Life is the spot! It delivers the best Al Pastor tacos I've had in Jersey so far. If you're in the area, stop scrolling, stop Googling, and just head here. This is what I tried!! The Al Pastor Taco: The pork is smoky, tender, and loaded with flavor, but the real MVP is the pineapple, smooth and soft. That little hit of sweetness takes this taco to a whole new level. The Shrimp Taco: Juicy shrimp, cheesy cheesee that ties everything together. Beef Birria Taco: The birria is melting in your mouth, tender. Al Pastor & Cheese Empanada: Crispy on the outside, gooey and flavorful on the inside. This goes crazy!!! Mexican Street Corn in a Cup: Creamy, cheesy, with just the right amount of chili and lime. It was alittle watery but it could be the lemon juice! Hibiscus Drink: Light, and refreshing, this is the drink you want to keep sipping!! The staff is family and friendly, the vibe is homie and welcoming, and everything feels made with love. If you're craving authentic, flavorful tacos Also the decor is amazing inside!! Tacos Is Life is a must visit.
